The Fight for Freedom in Our Families

This girl. Her brain is like Velcro. She remembers everything. I'm trying not to exaggerate but I think everything is a pretty accurate descriptor.

On Saturday we were driving and both big kids were chatting. Almost every sentence started with, "Mom, on Secret Life of Pets..." Every sentence.

The Nearly Devastating Day

Yesterday my sweet, tenderhearted and rambunctious little man turned 3. It seems like just yesterday I was blogging about his entry into the world. These days, I'm feeling extra thankful for him.

This past summer we were camping in BC. We were at an extended family members home for a laundry and swimming stop. We had drilled the kids in the car about water safety not going near the water without their floaties on.

Sports, Sundays and Sabbath

I went to Bible college in a small town. Things were slow in that small town. I remember trying to go to IGA once on a weeknight. It was like 6:03 PM and main street was a ghost town. I came from the city where you can get a junior bacon cheeseburger at 2 AM if you want This was NEW to me. There was one restaurant open on Sunday afternoons.... maybe 1-4 PM and other than that, NOTHING. Fighting for Unity in Divided Times

I just love Costco It's one of my favorite places to shop. I also hate it. Costco is the best place to go if I want to end up buying things I didn't know I needed. A few extras at Costco can quickly add up to more than  few dollars if you know what I mean.

Social media generates the same mixed emotions. It's the fastest way to get the word out about something important to me. It's also a fast and easy way to fill my mind with ideas, issues, things and details of strangers lives I didn't intend to know about.

Time to wait

On Saturday morning I was waiting at a Toronto A&W for my breakfast. Things were moving a tad slow compared to your expected fast food wait time.

This was my third morning eating A&W breakfast on that trip so I learned to expect at least a 10 minute wait. They have eggs from a shell and this girl needs the real deal.

The previous day I was in a hurry and all I had for breakfast was fruit. It left me weak feeling and hungry all day so that morning, I was prepared to wait as I knew the consequences of not eating.
